Great Spirit, there are none mightier than you,
for the battle that lay before me, I pray that you will see me through.
But should I die in battle, grant that a warrior I might be,
and open your arms and accept me so that my ancestors I might see.
One of your children I have been, for many long years gone by,
and have honored you my Grandfather even in a battle cry.
Now I am before you, as a mere grain amongst the sand,
should my life be over, please, Grandfather, take my hand.
